Last night, while we slept, the slow cooker simmered Sweet and Spicy Lentil Chili, p. 63, Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker. The lentils were tender but had some chew, the extra chili powder gave it some wonderful heat, and the molasses, one of my favorite flavors, was present but not overwhelming.
I'm not sure what woke me up at 3 AM: was it Reggie, the talkative boy cat, the smell of the Chili cooking, or the nagging thought of whether the new solid-state drive upgrade I performed on my MacBookPro4,1 cloned successfully or not. I fed Reggie, cleaned his litter box, divvied up the Chili for my wife, myself, and the refrigerator, upgraded the Mac's RAM from 4 GB to 6. The Chili is delicious, my computer is wicked fast, and I can't wait to get home and take a nap.
